In the past year (2018-2019), thanks to generous donations from individuals and community businesses, the HabiStore was able to divert 1,040 tons of building materials, appliances, new and gently used furniture, and home accessories from the local landfill. That’s more than double the tonnage the HabiStore saved from the landfill in previous years!

The HabiStore serves as a recycling hub that helps keep usable household items out of landfills. All sales generated by the HabiStore directly support the building of additional energy-efficient, affordable homes in the Tucson community.

“Everything we do here helps build their house,” HabiStore volunteer Herb said. “Habitat’s mission here is phenomenal. The money we raise for that is amazing.”

The HabiStore was also able to recycle over 50 cars through our Cars for Homes program. A program that takes old cars off the road and turn the proceeds into homes in our local community. The HabiStore is Habitat for Humanity Tucson’s home improvement outlet where you’ll discover something new and used every day.Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.The HabiStore serves as a recycling hub that helps people keep working, useable household items out of landfills.

All sales directly support the building of additional energy-efficient homes in the community. The store utilizes photovoltaic systems and high-efficiency lighting to reduce electricity costs by 50%.

The HabiStore is the ultimate leader in recycling practices by selling used goods. The store also recycles metal materials from unsalable items.

Habitat Tucson accepts vehicle donations, which allow them to continue purchasing the needed building materials for future homes. It is a great way to recycle, as old cars can be a strain on the environment.
