facilities and inventory technician

JOB TYPE: FULL TIME/HOURLY 

PAY: $18 HOUR 

LOCATION: 2811 W CURTIS RD, OUR “CHUCK” CENTER. 

PROGRAM: OPERATIONS  

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO WORK ON:  

The Facilities is responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the buildings for office, construction and retail operations.  The buildings include 3501 N Mountain, 935 W Grant Rd, 2811 W Curtis and any off-site locations as needed. Also provides PC/technical support of the A/V equipment in the conference area. This position is an essential part of the building’s security. Also responsible for the capital equipment and assets associated directly with the buildings.

Job Duties Include: 

  • Inventory Control at the CHUCK Center. 
  • Maintain and facilitate storage area at the CHUCK Center. 
  • Material Procurement. 
  • Monitoring and maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, paint, masonry, drywall repair, fixtures, furnishings, landscape including cisterns, minor equipment and troubleshooting. 
  • Monitor the budgets of the utilities at the properties.  
  • Participate in facility improvement efforts, including space planning, security, safety, and vendor relations as it relates to facilities and computers and supplies. 
  • Set up and move computer workstations.  
  • Monitoring and maintenance of office machines including all copiers and telephony. Troubleshoot issues with telecommunications service, equipment and set-up within defined procedures. Follow appropriate escalation paths as necessary and know when to call for assistance.  
  • Oversee fleet of vehicles including scheduled maintenance and, working with executive staff to implement vehicle replacement schedule.  
  • Ensure the safety of the building and work with the Safety Committee to update any infractions.  
  • Maintain updated Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). 
  • Maintain the Alarm System.  
  • Oversee janitorial source and cleanup between scheduled janitor visits. 
  • Direct inmates from Department of Corrections on special projects. 
  • Paint over any graffiti tagging. 
  • Oversee cistern operation and maintenance including emptying after rain events. 
  • Maintain inventory and loss control for tools and computer equipment. 
  • Understand and comply with all policies and procedures relating to job duties. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU ARE:
Education & Experience: 
  • High school diploma 
  • 2 years of experience in Building/Site Maintenance in a multi-site organization.

OTHER NECESSITIES:  

Valid Arizona driver license with a clean driving record

Working hours: The position is regarded as full time (40 hours a week). Work is usually performed between 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required to perform the job and may include some early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.

volunteer coordinator

YOUR JOB TITLE:  VOLUNTEER RESOURCES COORDINATOR

PROGRAM: VOLUNTEER RESOURCES 

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO WORK ON:   

The Volunteer Resources Coordinator is a key position in the leveraging of Habitat for Humanity Tucson Resources.  The Volunteer Resources Coordinator assists in engaging volunteers in the delivery of the organization’s programs and services. This includes directly managing volunteers, onboarding, training, recognizing, and/or providing guidance, support, resources, and tools to volunteers.

Job Duties Include: 

  • Coordinate volunteer opportunities, maintain public listings of volunteer opportunities, and effectively communicate information with both established and potential volunteers. 
  • Work with the Director of Volunteer Resources on researching, developing and implementing strategies and materials for the identification and recruitment of potential volunteers for all aspects of the organization’s operations.   
  • Schedule and train volunteers to meet the needs of the HabiStore. 
  • Assist in identifying and contacting organizations that promote volunteerism. 
  • Occasional attendance at events to promote volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Tucson in the community.   
  • Develops, prepares for, and conducts monthly, or as needed, volunteer orientations.  
  • Following up with volunteers/groups – Returning volunteer emails and phone calls, daily.  
  • Develops and manages a volunteer committee and youth volunteer program.    
  • Assist with coordinating and implementing day-of event management and logistics (e.g., event timelines, volunteer assignments, sign in sheets, waivers etc.) 
  • Assist with special volunteer days such as World Habitat Day and Women build.   
  • Help coordinate the affiliate’s volunteer appreciation and recognition program in effort to increase volunteer retention and engagement. 

Qualifications: 

Education & Experience:  

  • Some college or higher preferred. 
  • Minimum of one-year direct experience in a volunteer engagement position 

Skills: 

  • Upbeat, positive, outgoing, personable and able to relate well with diverse groups and individuals.  
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft software, database management, and related activities.   
  • Out of the box, critical thinker   
  • Flexible, adaptable, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.   
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little or no supervision  
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task & work well under pressure. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Well organized, flexible and must enjoy the challenges of a wide variety of responsibilities.   
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Other Necessities: 

Travel:    25% travel within Tucson. This includes visiting HabiStore, local job sites or offsite events or meetings.  

License:   Valid Arizona Driver’s License or can obtain one prior to employment. A personal vehicle or access to a vehicle is required. 

Working hours:    The position is regarded as full-time (40 hours a week). Work is typically performed between 8am and 5pm Tuesday through Saturday. Additional hours may be required to perform the job and may include early mornings and some evenings. 

Working Conditions: 

Office and off-site environment settings. Work is sometimes sedentary in nature, and sometimes requires standing, walking, lifting, and climbing. The working environment may include worksites that are dusty, hot, loud, and have uneven surfaces. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
