Benitez & Cuen Family

Carlos Benitez and Luisana Cuen are looking forward to a sense of belonging in their new Habitat Home.

They are hopeful and excited about living in a neighborhood where they can become more involved with their community. With two growing boys, they also are looking forward to more space.

“We have a good landlord, but rent is high,” says Carlos, a producer and DJ at 105.3 La Poderosa, of their west-side home. “I need more space to live. Right now it is so, so small in a one bedroom.”

For Luisana and Carlos, the most important thing in their lives is spending time with their kids, Carlos and Erick. Both Luisana and Carlos say safety is imperative for their family, and agree that owning their own home will be much better than renting.

Thanks to Habitat for Humanity Tucson’s mission-driven work, the Benitez & Cuen family now has a forever home. If you’d like to explore our homeownership opportunities for low-income households, visit this page to find out how to apply.
