Blitz Building a stronger Tucson

Last Friday, Habitat Tucson volunteers completed the record-breaking Tucson Blitz Build – an effort to build four homes in eight days! We are ecstatic to see how far the project came over the course of the very busy eight days. We built four homes – houses that will provide four Tucson families with opportunities to better their lives.

img_0039Thank you to all of our volunteers and community partners who helped make this feat possible. Without the support of the local building industry, our core volunteers and the individuals from the Blitz Home Builders, these four homes would have never come as far as they did in such a short time.

The Blitz Home Builders are a passionate group of volunteers from across the country who partner with Habitat for Humanity affiliates to build homes that change lives.

For one of the Blitz Home Builders volunteers, the Tucson build is her 15th Blitz Build! Kathy Lawrence told us more about Blitz Build and how she is passionate about continuing her journey! What an inspiration.

Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Everyone deserves a decent place to live, and everyone can do something today to help make that possible for another family.

We still need donations and volunteers to help us complete our home-building efforts.
