Habitat Tucson Donates Respirator Masks in Wake of Coronavirus Pandemic

Habitat for Humanity Tucson has donated our supply of respirator masks to Tucson area hospitals as medical personnel battle the Coronavirus in Arizona and around the country.

Habitat normally uses the masks on construction sites to protect volunteers and staff against tiny wood dust particles that are generated from wood frame construction.

Currently, these types of masks are in short supply and highly sought after by hospitals and clinics because they protect against airborne particles like viruses and bacteria.

Habitat Tucson doesn’t keep a large supply on-hand — but what we did have in our warehouse, our team made the decision to donate.  Every mask will help. This is an unprecedented Supply Chain crisis.[mk_image src=”https://habitattucson.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/img_0028-scaled.jpg” image_size=”large”]

“Habitat Tucson has been lucky to be a part of a generous community and we want to pay it forward. This donation is a small part of that,” said T. VanHook, CEO of Habitat Tucson. “I wanted to say thank you to the entire team.”

“We’re in this together. We encourage all construction companies who are able, to donate their personal protective equipment to their local medical professionals.[mk_image src=”https://habitattucson.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/habitattucson_logoblack.png” image_size=”full”]
