Own a Home – Original
Step 1 in the process is attending a free information session to learn how to own a home through Habitat Tucson. Bring a friend! No RSVP is required.
Buying a Habitat for Humanity home is a unique opportunity.
Habitat Tucson partners with families who are willing to be successful homeowners. Families learn how to pay for their homes, maintain their homes and connect with their community. We require our families to take our homebuyer education classes on topics ranging from finance and budgeting to home repair and maintenance. Additionally, Habitat provides family mentors who meet regularly with Habitat families to guide them through the home buying process.
Home styles may vary in each neighborhood, and the size of your home is determined by the size of your family. Habitat Tucson builds new homes and renovates existing homes.
Habitat homebuyers must meet three primary requirements:
- Demonstrated need
- Willingness to partner
- Ability to pay
Habitat homebuyers complete 250 hours of sweat equity building yours and your neighbors’ homes, pay a down payment, and commit to pay a mortgage.
Our homeowners and volunteers find the process rewarding and take pride in making the dream of homeownership a reality.
The first step in the application process is to attend a free information session. Bring a friend! Learn about Habitat homeownership.
