We love when HabiStore shoppers show us their DIY photos!

Breathe new life into vintage furniture gems and antiques, with a little imagination and paint. This up-cycled transformation comes from Julissa Schuster – Junk Addict. It was painted with homemade chalkpaint!

Buying items second-hand is a great way to keep items out the landfill, green your home and give items new life. There are a ton of great tutorials out there on how to take an old piece of furniture and redo it into a masterpiece. Keep the repurposing & upcycling going.

One great repurpose idea is to buy an old picture or mirror and reuse the frame. You can use it for just about anything. Check out this great chalkboard DIY project from Janelle Duffy Wall who took a mirror and turned it into this great chalkboard. Janelle said “it was a fun and very easy project. My kids love it!”

HabiStore volunteer, Bill Scott is our go-to-guy for repurposing items.  Bill says his approach is first he tries to restore items, then he tries to repurpose the items and finally he will recycle pieces into different projects. From basic repurpose ideas to innovative fun ideas like these fun outdoor decorative tables made from scrap materials and repurposed tools. Bill doesn’t let anything go to waste.

Check our Facebook & Pinterest pages for more DIY inspiration and show us your re-purposed treasures.
