Brian McKnight volunteered more than 11 years for Habitat Tucson. Brian died peacefully August 19, 2020, on the 26th anniversary of his marriage to Joan Sandin.
“Brian was such an amazing man. I worked with him for 9 years,” says Habitat Tucson CPO J.J. Swinney. “An amazing man with amazing stories. He will forever be missed.”
Longtime regular volunteer Pat Hirschman remembers Brian McKnight as a wonderful storyteller and a gentle spirit, who was always interested to hear about other’s stories as well.
Pat says, “No matter what the job, Brain was always willing to help.”
Brian was an internationally recognized scholar, author and translator, specializing in Chinese History (Sung Dynasty), publishing articles and books on medieval Chinese medicine, law, and women’s rights. We will also always remember him always as a devoted construction volunteer.
He gave so much to the world, and will be deeply missed by his Habitat community.
‘Brian was always willing to help’
Brian’s family is suggesting remembrances can be made to Habitat for Humanity Tucson.
