Rosa McFeaters thought that with her lack of credit, owning a home was out of reach. Until, one day, she saw an article in the newspaper about Habitat for Humanity. She said she clipped that article and held onto it, and dreamed.

Later, she attended an orientation and submitted an application and waited for that fateful call.
Rosa knows that owning a home is a big commitment. She understands her income and she understands what she can pay. “I know I need a house; not clothes, not shoes, a house,” she said. “It’s not for me…it’s for my daughter.”
Rosa, her daughter Marilyn and their new puppy, a Chihuahua, will move into their High School build home in the late spring of 2009.
“Our life is changing with the help of Habitat,” she said. “I am lucky I’m going to have a Habitat house.”
