The following is a wonderful thank you note we received from our intern Genna:
Dear Habitat Tucson,
I just wanted to let you know everything went very well today and I also got to attend another dedication that was in Copper Vista. I definitely cried, it was so beautiful. We did a lot of painting today and I was so happy to be able to do just as much work as everyone else. It gave me a new found confidence in myself that I wasn’t aware I was lacking. I really enjoyed meeting the family that received their new home today, the other volunteers, and the guys managing the construction there- we ended up talking a lot of architecture shop. Thank you very much for having me go and spend some time at the site.
I appreciate this internship more and more  and I am sure that I will be volunteering more time after it is over. I am so grateful for this opportunity and I hope to work with Habitat Tucson, another affiliate, or a similar non-profit full time and be able to dedicate my life to this type of endeavor. It has truly been a dream come true for me.
You, JJ, and T. have been such a great inspiration for me and everyone at the office have been fabulous which has helped me grow a lot since January. My only wish is that I learned more about Habitat earlier in my life and would have been able to help touch lives sooner because you all do incredible and meaningful work. So I just wanted to say thank you again because my heart has been touched so many times. I feel so lucky that I was chosen for this internship because at the time I came on, I didn’t know how perfect of a fit it was! I really want to thank you specifically for focusing the internship on my interests and letting my creative juices flow because you really didn’t have to do that and it has been so special to me. It has been and will continue to be a life changing experience!
I really can’t express in words how grateful I am and how blessed I feel, but I thought that I should at least try.
Genna
