The Machado Family

Yolanda Machado calls herself an emotional person. “I cry at everything,” she says. So, it’s no surprise that she cried the day she found out her family had been approved for a Habitat house.

“My husband is still in shock and Junior is as excited as I am,” she said about her family’s response. “I have it saved on my phone, the date and time they called to tell us.”

During the school year, Yolanda is an Assistant Nurse for TUSD, her son, Eustacio Jr., plays baseball at his high school and her daughter, Alexis, will graduate from as a Vet Tech this fall.

The Machados have faced much adversity and, as a result, they are a very tight-knit family.

Like so many others, the Machado family found hope and stability through Habitat Tucson’s low-income housing opportunities. You can explore how the program works and see if you qualify by visiting our affordable housing program information.
