AmeriCorps

HFHT takes great pride in working with local and out of state AmeriCorps programs, individuals and groups.  For one year, get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable hands-on experience and prepare for your future. This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset. Our HFHT Americorps assist us a construction crew leads and learn all aspects of construction, destruction, critical home repair and neighborhood revitalization.

RV Care-A-Vanners

Make a difference in the lives of those in need of decent, affordable housing by participating in RV Care-A-Vanner building projects in partnership with local Habitats across North America. These local Habitats benefit from the significant skills, energy and enthusiasm of the RV Care-A-Vanners, who in just two weeks can substantially accelerate their building program and raise the community’s awareness of Habitat’s work.

With the RV Care-A-Vanners, you can meet and work with families as they create a place, they can call home. You’ll have the chance to meet wonderful volunteers who share the vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Every RV-er is welcome; no experience needed. Care-A-Vanners can expect to work on our construction sites and at our new CHUCK Center. Volunteers will participate in panelized construction building which involves using pre-assembled jigs to construct wall panels for home construction in a modular way.

Internships

Whether you’re in high school, college or on a gap year between the two, internships can play a powerful role in helping you find your passion and your voice while volunteering.

Encountering new ideas, people and places is critical to shaping your worldview and making connections with your peers and the world at large. Not to mention that developing talents, practicing teamwork skills and gaining real-world experience can enhance any college application or resume.

Military Veterans

Looking for your next career step after your military Service? Are you within 180 days of release from Active Duty? Discover opportunities to participate in training and development with industry and employers who are seeking the high-quality skills that you bring to the table.

SkillBridge

SkillBridge is an excellent opportunity as you plan for your life after the military. SkillBridge matches civilian opportunities to your job training and work experience at the end of your military duty. In addition to opportunities such as Tuition Assistance and the GI Bill program, you can enhance your marketability and career prospects by participating in a SkillBridge opportunity.

Any rank, enlisted or officer, may apply for SkillBridge. SkillBridge permits you to use up to the last 180 days of Service to train and learn with an industry partner. During SkillBridge participation you continue to receive military compensation and you are covered by your military benefits. Release for SkillBridge is always mission-dependent and your unit Commander must authorize participation prior to entering into any agreement with interested industry employment partners.

There are many industry partners with opportunities in a variety of fields. These industry partners have developed SkillBridge programs for service members because they value your expertise, dedication and service. We at Habitat Tucson not only value and respect our military, but we have many programs that we provide that benefit military veterans and their families. Check us out!

Federal Work Study Students

Habitat for Humanity Tucson proudly accepts students that have applied and have been qualified for FWS opportunities through any of our local colleges or community colleges. Please either check with your FWS program or email us directly at ginah@habitattucson.org. Currently our FWS work at our HabiStore, CHUCK Center, Construction sites, or in admin.  Please email ginah@habitattucson.org.
