2025 Women Build Homebuyer amanda

Before finding Habitat for Humanity, Amanda’s living situation was far from ideal. She and her boys were living in a duplex, with the boys sharing a room while Amanda had her own. While they made do, she longed for something more permanent. “I’m just looking for something more permanent so that they can have their own space,” she shared. Her dream was to find a place where her family could build lasting memories.

How you can help

Our goal with Women Build is to empower women to help families build strength, stability and independence. We at Habitat have the ability to provide opportunities for hands-on learning, and given these tools, women can succeed in changing their communities.

Women of all skill levels come together to help families in need!

Sponsor

Women Build sponsors are individuals, corporations, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and foundations that contribute to the Women Build home. You and your business could help us build our next home! You’ll also receive the benefits of sponsorship, which include but are not limited to media exposure and recognition of your support and efforts to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Consider funding a home with Habitat Tucson and learn more about the benefits of sponsorship.

Read Tezira's Story

Balancing work and raising three children alone was overwhelming, prompting her to move to Tucson during her divorce to be closer to her mother, brother, and sisters. Having experienced the life-changing impact of Habitat for Humanity before, Tezira saw a new opportunity with Habitat Tucson to start fresh with her family. Reflecting on her journey, she shared,

“That’s why when I got here, I wanted to see if I could get another chance—this time on my own. When I applied and got approved, I said, ‘Thank you, God!’”

Read Clarissa's Story

For Clarissa, a Tucson native and single mother of two, home has always meant more than just shelter—it’s meant safety, stability, and space for her family to thrive. But for years, that dream felt out of reach. Clarissa and her children—Saiana (12), who has cerebral palsy, and Myles (8)—endured cramped, unsafe living conditions.
