We team up with neighbors to build a better quality of the community for current and future residents.
Through partnerships with residents, businesses, community groups, faith community, and other engaged citizens. There are a multitude of projects that we can work on to help improve the community.
Services such as affordable homeownership program, new home construction, home repair, veterans build, age in place, neighborhood cleanup, or nonprofit partnership projects help to repair and build a strong community.
The affordable homeownership program is our program which helps low-income families learn to become responsible homeowners. This helps to build strong families and communities through classes and education.
New home construction programs help to build and/or repair new homes in communities. Different types of building programs for your group include the women build, veterans build, school build, rainbow build, faith build, or the global build. Habitat Tucson has constructed over 400 houses in Southern Arizona.
Alongside constructing homes comes repairing them. We reach out to partner with neighborhood organizations to identify low-income residents with homes that need repair. Then the repair program teams up with current homeowners to fix health and safety issues as well as completing home improvement projects.
The veterans build as well as the age in place program offers both those who have served in the military and the elderly with affordable housing or repairs, so that they can live comfortable and stable lives.
Neighborhood cleanup is for volunteer groups that want to help improve the appearance of the neighborhood. Improvement projects can include community gardens, neighborhood clean-up, graffiti abatement, shelter building, mural painting and more.
The HabiStore redirects hundreds of tons from the landfill every year. We can partner with other nonprofit organizations to move items that we cannot accept.
